This course will be covering changes to the new RTU’s with 2 stage 2 speed blower motors to meet the current ASHRAE 90.1 2016 requirements. We will discuss the design changes of these RTU’s specifically on the indoor blower motor operation and the economizer control. The indoor blower will operate as a 2 speed motor using a VFD to control the different speeds. The economizer control will use the Honeywell 7220 control to maintain proper position to achieve ventilation air requirements in both low and high speed blower CFM’s.
